Putting Faith Into Action –How to Help

When people think of Habitat, they think of homeownership.  There are many ways for you to help qualified low-income homeowners own a home.

Millard Fuller, Habitat founder, relates the Habitat partnership in this way – Putting faith into action

Habitat’s ministry is based on the conviction that to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, we must love and care for one another. Our love must not be words only— it must be true love, which shows itself in action. Habitat provides an opportunity for people to put their faith and love into action. We bring diverse groups of people together to make affordable housing and better communities a reality for everyone

  • Encourage your church, business, associations or clubs to sponsor a “Habitat Build” as a mission or tithe
  • Encourage low-income families to apply for the program
  • Solicit or donate building materials, professional services, skilled or unskilled labor, food for workers, home building sites (lots), and/or money.
  • Donate to or buy from our ReStore – a recycled building materials retail outlet
  • Consider planned or estate giving to your local Habitat
  • Volunteer on our Board of Directors, Committee or special events
  • Share the “Habitat Story”, spread the word, keep us in your prayers
